Our Charity of the Year 2018 is…

Chosen Charity of the Year 2018

Each year we nominate a new charity to support and throughout 2018 we will be supporting Farms for City Children.

About Farms for City Children

Children’s author Michael Morpurgo and his wife Clare founded Farms for City Children at Nethercott House in 1976. Nethercott House is just outside the village of Iddlesleigh in Devon. The charity offers urban children from all over the country a unique opportunity to live and work together for a week at a time on a real farm in the heart of the countryside. It is an intense, ‘learning through doing’ experience of a different life – for children who may not know where their food comes from and have limited opportunities to explore the outside world.

The charity now has three working farms across the country and welcomes around 3,200 children and 400 teachers a year.

How you can support Farms for City Children

In both our garden centres we have collection tins positioned next to our tills for any loose change you may have. In addition, during the year we will be organising several events to raise money for the charity. You can also give instantly by donating online
