Plant Fest
We are delighted to kick start National Gardening Week with a fun family festival, that's FREE to enter!
Taking place at our Sidmouth Road, Clyst St Mary garden centre (EX5 1AE opposite Westpoint) from 10am to 3pm we have lots going on.
Live music
We will have THREE very talented musicians joining us to play live.
Pete Falloon
Exmouth-based indie folk/country rock singer/songwriter Pete Falloon launched his debut album Reed In The River in 2016. He's supported Britpop legends Dodgy, and UK funk heroes The Blockheads as well as folk acts like Ruarri Joseph, Harbottle & Jonas and Pete Morton. Pete was also nominated for 2017 Best Folk/Acoustic Act in the Radio Wigwam international Online Radio Awards from over 1200 acts. BBC Introducing In Devon said of his live session "Beautiful vocals, haunting, heartfelt lyrics and just exceptionally constructed songs...WOW!".
Pete Falloon Talented Singer Songwriter
The album has received great reviews and widespread radio play from the UK, USA, Netherlands and Canada.
Chris Hawkins has given Lay Down In The Morning Light several plays on BBC Radio 6, saying of the track: "As beautiful as they come.. proper craftsmanship songwriting.. Simon & Garfunkel meets the Byrds.. capturing daybreak quite perfectly".
Phil Cooper
Phil is a contemporary singer/songwriter who has earned excellent reviews from the national press, with his thought provoking songwriting and energetic live performances drawing comparisons to Neil Finn, Glenn Tilbrook and Ben Folds.
Phil Cooper Singer
During his live shows, he makes a real connection with the crowd, whether it’s handing out dozens of egg shakers, or passing around his “doodle book” for the audience to draw in. Every now and then you’ll catch him unplugging his guitar and shunning the stage to stand right in among the captivated audience.
2016 saw Phil turning his back on his life in executive management (he was Technical Director for an internet company) and plunge head first into a fully professional music career with the help of a brand new album, “Things I’ll Never Say”.
Reviews include:
“One to see live, Definitely” – R2 Magazine
“Quite possibly the most brilliant singer-songwriter you don’t know about and shouldn’t miss” – Jamsphere Blog.
Matthew Falloon
Matthew Falloon Musician
The music of former Smoke Feathers singer Matthew Falloon has been compared to Paul Simon and Jackson Browne by Uncut magazine, his songwriting has been praised as "exceptional" by Maverick magazine, and BBC Radio 2's Janice Long says he is "brilliant". His new album Do No Harm has been championed by BBC 6 Music's Chris Hawkins and was named best album of the year so far by "The Very Thing" blogger Simon Rickards. An accomplished guitarist and singer, Matthew has performed live on national TV and radio, toured the UK, Europe and the Caribbean, and played live with Dodgy, Natty, Shura, Blue Rose Code, Hiatus, Samantha Whates and Charlene Soraia. Matthew also plays mandolin, bass and pedal steel with The Orange Circus.
