Favourite Rose 2015

Each year on our rose tours, we ask visitors to vote for their favourite rose. The results always prove that ‘what is a rose’ to one person, isn’t necessarily to another! Here at St Bridget Nurseries we grow hundreds of different varieties and they all have different characteristics – flower shape, flower colour, fragrance, leaf colour etc. The Favourite Rose 2015 is Nostalgia!

Nostalgia was interestingly joint favourite in 2014 (when it shared the top spot with Rock ‘n’ Roll). When seen in full bloom, visitors tend to say ‘I’ve never seen a rose quite like it before’. It really is stunning and a great addition to your garden. Normally, there are not many votes between the winning rose and the other nominations but this year Nostalgia was a clear winner with 20% of the votes. Coming in second was Warm Wishes with 7% of the votes. In total 38 different varieties were nominated.

Interestingly, only four varieties have been nominated every year for the last three years and they are: Cherry Brandy, Gertrude Jekyll, Hot Chocolate and Nostalgia.
